Vigyan Sarvatra Pujayate sees potpourri of cultural events

ITANAGAR, Feb 26: The ongoing weeklong science festival “Vigyan Sarvatra Pujayate” at A.P. Science Centre here witnessed more than 300 students’ participants from various Capital Complex schools.

Their vibrant presentations included cultural events, science drama-Evolution of Science – by Donyi Polo Mission School of Hearing and Visually Impaired and Evolution of viral diseases by Holy Cross High School, songs by Green Mount School, Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan, Professional Carrier Academy, beat boxing by Green Mount School, dance by Professional Carrier Academy  and recitation science poem on “ Vigyan Bhaut Upyogi Hai” by special guest DNGC HoD (commerce) Dr Ashok Pandey,  “Vigyan aur Mamta” by DNGC Hindi assistant Prof Lily Tumbom Riba,  Vivekananda Kendra Centre for Technical Education assistant Prof Dr. Dorjee & Hornbill English Medium School principal Mridula Roy.

GoI’s Vigyan Prasar, S&T department’s Dr Sachin C Narwadia and Nagpur-based  Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya  assistant Prof Dr. Shardul Wagh, speaking as chief guest and guest of honour respectively,  spoke on self-motivation and milestones of Indian scientists.

Expressing happiness over poem recitation by experts, A.P. State Council for Science & Technology director-cum-member Secretary CD Mungyak said that reciting poem and formulas are best methods to develop better understanding of science, especially physics and mathematics.

A faculty development programme ‘Hands on school level chemistry practical’ for teachers was conducted by West Bengal technical education & training department associate Prof Dr Suprakash Roy as resource person, according to an official release.
